Configuring Metric Sets

Very often, when we are monitoring the health of a resource or troubleshooting, we need to correlate multiple pieces of data to get an accurate picture. A metric set allows you to collect data across a group of metrics in parallel. You can set up metric sets for host, container, and pod resources.

Here is how you configure metric sets:

Create a Metric Set

     1.   In Resources, select the resource you are setting up a metric set for
     2.   At the bottom of Metric sets, click the + sign
     3.  A Create new metric set form will be presented
     4.  Provide a Name and Description for the new metric set
     5.  From Metric list, select a metric and click on the → arrow to place it in the metric set
     6.  You can rearrange the Metric sequence by dragging and dropping the metrics
     7.  You can remove a metric by clicking on the X
     8.  Click Save

Edit a Metric Set

     1.   In Metric sets, select the metric set to edit
     2.  To add a new metric, select it from Metric list and click on the → arrow to place it in the metric set
     3.  To remove a metric, click on the X next to the metric name
     4.  To update the existing metric set, click Update
     5.  To save it as a new metric set, enter a new Name and Description and Click Save as new

Delete a Metric Set

     1.   In Metric sets, select the metric set to delete
     2.   At the bottom of Metric sets, click the - sign
     3.  Enter the metric set name (case sensitive) in the Delete metric set window
     4.  Click Delete
